>Would love to have a link to your blog. >With so much bias shown, I wonder who sponsored the program? Any formula >companies? Henya, no need to look for sponsorship (the BBC has none, anyway). I've heard the whole clip. Morgan was silenced because she was not 'behaving' as she was supposed to. IMO, the facts about formula, and the social context of formula, are not 'allowed' in these 'debates' (ha!) because of two reasons i) all corporations, publically-owned, privately-owned whatever, default to the support of big business ii) many of the people who write the articles, publish the magazines, produce the radio programmes, present the programmes, formula fed their babies Reason ii) goes back to our discussion on here a month or so ago - the fact that formula feeding *changes* women and families, psychodynamically. When women do not breastfeed, particularly if the bottle feeding that is done is done in a 'non-breastfeeding-like' way, something happens. Then, to protect themselves from this, they find themselves denying that anything regrettable has happened....they may even decide that what happened was good. No one wants that carapace of denial removed - and they will fight with scorn, or with a closed mic, in order to retain it. I hope I am not reading too much into this when I say I actually feel sorry for the producer who was so unpleasant to Morgan (off air) - see M's blog for details. What on earth has gone on in her head, in her body, in her heart to make her like that?
