Ever have one of those days that makes you feel doing what we do is worth every minute?  I did today.  I have worked for WIC nearly 20 years.  There is one family I see every now and again.  Mom has 7 children - ranging in age from teenager to 1 year.  Nice family.  She came in today and remembered me from when she needed help with breastfeeding. This was long before being an IBCLC was something I thought I could ever attain. She said I was talking to her on the phone when her then youngest was breastfeeding and she needed a little help.  Today, she said "I saved her life" - her words - because I was there for her when she needed it - she never forgot me.  She has successfully breastfed all 7 of her children.  Of course, the mom herself deserves the credit, but it sure made my day.   Our staff asked why I was crying....
