Heather Welford makes a good point in saying that to counter the claim that you can't tell by looking at a group of five-year-olds, which ones were breastfed, you can remind people that you also can't tell which of them has alcoholic parents, or which has parents who don't use car seats. Still, this reminded me of a discussion long ago, about children in pre-schools being breastfed, and I want to say it was Teresa Pitman's story, but could be mistaken: it was of a breastfed preschooler whose mother asked him whether he thought there were any other breastfed children in his group. He replied, after a moment's thought, 'Only the happiest ones.' To Those Who Know the True Signs, it seems you CAN tell.
