Hi Everybody, My daughter is about 32 weeks into her first pregnancy, has been on Insulin since about 7 weeks and is having a pretty complicated time so far. She is being seen at the Naval Hospital in Bremerton Washington. Her OB refused to write an RX for donor milk in case the baby has hypoglycemia unresolved by breastfeeding. He told her "a navy RX would not work at the milk bank". So we bypassed him and donor milk is now happily in my freezer in case of a hypoglycemic preemie. Today, she was seen by a resident physician. She mentioned that she secured the donor milk. This person ACTUALLY said "if your baby is hypoglycemic we will use synthetic food to treat it". My daughter then said, "I will not be giving my baby any formula". And this "doctor" then said, "Oh it isn't really formula". Can you hear me screaming?
