My name is Mandy Schaub. I'm a hospital based lactation consultant in Greenville, South Carolina. I am hoping someone can send along some intelligent interview questions. In the next week I will be participating in the interviewing of Labor/Delivery/Postpartum Managers as well as Lactation Consultant candidates. I'd love some insight into great interview questions. I've interviewed people before for completely unrelated jobs. The interviews for the Manager have me the most anxious. I'm bascially helping to interview my potential boss. And very happy to be included in on the process. The Manager interviews will be in a group consisting of me, a nurse, a seceretary and a scrub tech. I'd like to come across in a positive way, but also get a real feeling for how they view lactation consultants. Our previous boss, though not necessarily an advocate herself, was supportive of us. She pretty much let us (there are 4 LC's currently on staff) run ourselves and supplied us with what we needed. I'd also like some questions for LC candidates. I'll be the only one interviewing the LC candidates. The only LC position I've been in on hiring was already a well known hardworking postpartum nurse whose fit with us was a "no- brainer". Our current candidates are big unknowns. And none of them are IBCLC certified (our posting states they have to be able to certifiy within 1 year of being hired). So thanks for any help you can send my way! -Mandy Schaub, MS, RD, IBCLC *********************************************** Archives: http://community.lsoft.com/archives/LACTNET.html To reach list owners: [log in to unmask] Mail all list management commands to: [log in to unmask] COMMANDS: 1.
