The only way to check properly would be to take the same babies, and 
weigh them all three times on each of those scales. If you have done 
this, then clearly your scales are up to the job. That's not always 
been my experience as my post showed.

As for the incorrect recording of results (pure operator error), 
have you never seen this, either?

It can't just be me seeing this!
