Dear all:

I stand corrected about the "parent" of social marketing.  I spoke of Richard Mannoff 
because he was one of the first I know of in the arena of nutrition education --- an area 
fraught with finger wagging messages about eat your veggies, fruits, red meat, 24 ounces 
of milk, etc (depending on the food fad of the moment).  Marcia Griffiths took his ideas 
much further into the realm of interacting with mothers to design workable plans rather 
than the tired old knowledge messages.
