I have a request for information from a mom who is an OB physician
(permission to post). Her son is 15 months old, she weaned 6 months
ago. She still has recurrent right nipple pain (middle area of nipple, not
the tip and not the base) that sometimes radiates through the breast and
around to her back (she feels it is neuropathic). She was thoroughly
checked by her physician, had a normal mammogram, has NO signs of any
type of infection yeast or bacterial, no malignancy, does not have Raynaud's. Nipple and breast look perfectly normal. No history of mastitis or scars, only one episode of plugged duct during the 9 months of BF.
Any thoughts?
