I got a postcard from West Jefferson Medical Center as well, but if you look (read) it closely it does require that one also be an RN...as usual. So once again, my BS degree in Maternal Child Health, 7 years breastfeeding experience and IBCLC initials mean nothing since I am not a "RN" and therefore not valuable to the healthcare community. When did being an IBCLC 'require' that one also be an RN? I thought this profession was started by those that came up through LLL-and now it is only those with healthcare experience that can get the well-paying jobs ($30/hour looks well paying to a former SAHM!). Not even a degree in Lactation is worth anything now it seems... Just feeling a bit frustrated this morning, as I just sent off my student loan payment for a degree that I cannot get a job with...
