For Magda and others: I have sat through so many talks about the Tanzania Triple A cycle that its not funny. Urban Jonsson of UNICEF did presentation after presentation on the topic. UNICEF should have a lot of documents on the "Triple A" cycle that described the decision making process. In terms of a good review of the topic of growth monitoring and promotion. The Cornell International Nutrition Monograph Series No. 19. authored by Urban Jonnson probably covers the topic of his many presentations. It is entitled, Causes and Strategies in Tanzania. Marie Ruel did an excellent review in "Chlld Growth and Nutrition in Developing Countries: Priorities for Action" A book edited by Per Pinstrup-Andersen, David Pelletier & Harold Alderman in 1995 and published by Cornell University Press. She includes a review of the Triple A cycle. Whlle this is not directly applicable to test-weighing, the concepts of how you use information appropriately certainly are. I think it is important to consider for any indicator that we use whether it is our eyeballs, our eyes, our ears, our intuition or anything else we use to evaluate a clinical situation.
