Hi All,

Don't forget about reverse pressure softening (RPS) for this mom. If the
nipple and areola are engorged, especially after all these pumping efforts,
it could be blocking off the milk from coming out. Reverse pressure
softening for a few minutes before pumping will move excess fluids away from
the area and allow the milk to flow out better. You can do a search on
Lactnet for Jean Kotterman's previous posts that describe the procedure in
wonderful detail.

Also, Marsha Walker mentioned at a talk last fall that acupuncture works
particularly well for moms of premies.
