Hi everyone,
With permission to post:
Mom had what sounded like a milk blister (small white painful area on nipple tip), thought she resolved it by warmth, massage, nursing. No other sx of plugged duct, no soreness, redness. The area that had been under the milk blister looks, accding to her, like a bump or callous now, and is more painful when baby nurses. It has gotten more painful over the past couple of weeks despite our treatment for presumed plugged duct.
I'm going to try to see her tomorrow, see if I can figure out more by looking at it. She is a Ped. nurse and says there is no sign of infection.
Besides my suggestions of more aggressive treatment for plugged ducts, does anyone have ideas about what could help here? Thanks so much,
Mary Taylor, LLLL, new IBCLC
