Dear Royce and All, Thank you, Royce, for your hard work getting the drawing up where we can see it. I want to put in my two cents here, though, to point out that breastfeeding involves two people, and indeed more than that when you include the support system. I feel strongly that any international symbol (if we decide that one is needed) must show more than a baby's face, a breast, and a headless woman. We would lose credibility with many potential allies if we made this all about the baby and neglected the woman behind the breast. There are lots of good logos/symbols that show breastfeeding women & babies. Go to the LLLI website links page and you can see many of them by clicking on the links. http://www.lalecheleague.org/links.html I think my favorite is INFACT's. Although only the baby's head shows, you can blame that on the angle we're looking from; it isn't cut out of the picture. I also like Baby Friendly USA, LLLI, LINKAGES, and IBFAN, but INFACT's seems to have reduced mother and baby to a set of simple geometrical shapes, so it's more like the universal symbols you see on traffic signs and in airports. Let's keep talking.
