Love Sheila's down-to-earth reasons to BF! No one has mentioned the obvious 'because it feels good', at least once you get latch and engorgement sorted out. We had a similar discussion earlier on LN, and it was pointed out that people don't make most of their daily life choices based on what effects they will have on long term health. They make choices based on what feels right, and is practical, then and there. A valid reason to sit down and bask with the baby, a free hand for the channel changer or, more likely, a cell phone... How about, because breastfed babies' spit-up and poop don't stink, and you can save lots on skin care products because their skin is usually soft and free of rashes?
