Hi Laurie- Our Bf Coalition has such a center, well, we're funded to do a limited number of in-person consultations and unlimited telephone consultations. Here's what we have: *Two Medela Lactina pumps, intended for use by mothers who would otherwise not be able to get a pump (they don't qualify for WIC, or can't get a WIC appointment for quite some time, etc.) One pump is kept in the office just in case we need to help a mother during a consult. *Nipple shields in a variety of sizes *Starter SNS *Full SNS *Hydrogel pads *Feeding syringes *Haberman feeders *Hazelbaker feeders *Baby wipes *Disposable diapers *Cavicide *Disinfecting wipes (general purpose) *Digital Tanita scale *Disposable drapes for the scale *Changing table *Glider *Nursing stool *Nursing pillows (we have My Breastfriend, Boppy, Little Beam) that can be wiped down between use *Trash cans *Calculator (to estimate weight loss) *Intake cards (those ones that tell you how much a baby needs at a given weight) *Copy/fax machine for making copies/faxing copies of reports to HCPs. *Resource books--Breastfeeding Answer Book, Medications & Mothers' Milk, Bf and Human Lactation, Bf for the Medical Profession, Nursing Mother's Herbal, etc. Here are some things to consider: *We've recently converted to computerized charting. It has its advantages and of course disadvantages. We're currently using a laptop computer since we need to take it offsite for various reasons. *What do you think about having abm available? We continue to be torn about this issue. Rule #1 is feed the baby. All of us feel at least somewhat uncomfortable purchasing abm for all kinds of reasons. *Do you want a microwave to warm supplement prior to using an SNS? I think that covers everything except office supplies (folders, chart notes, forms, pens/pencils, calendar, etc.), a desk and a chair. One other thing we've recently begun using is an online calendar. It is making scheduling *much* easier (especially since there are 4 IBCLCs in the office, plus rotating nursing students).
