Rachel: With mom's permission to post, I am working with a mother/baby who have a similar history. This mom's baby is 4 months old now, has always nursed/gained well, but mom has experienced excruciating nipple pain virtually the entire time. She has steadily worked her way thru all the recommended yeast protocols as well as the herbs/diet with some relief for awhile, then right back to the pain. She does have a history of vaginal yeast infections and her symptoms got much worse when she had to be on a course of antibiotics for an infection. The symptoms sure sound like thrush/yeast to all of us working with her. Fortunately, both her and the baby's doctor have been willing to prescribe for them. She is now down to actually putting her baby to the breast 2-3 times/day and pumps the rest of the feedings. She says it is painful to pump also, but not as bad. I feel as stumped as you are, so if anyone has any additional advice for Rachel, I'm interested, too.
