I am trying to help a new mother who has inverted nipples. In the first two days after the birth she was able to roll the nipples out somewhat and we managed to get baby nursing on a shield. After she went home and the milk came in obviously it wasn't working so well and the nipples have become very sore. Her breasts are naturally firm without much elasticity in the areola tissue. I assume the fullness and swelling in the breast added to the problem. She has been pumping with a "pump in style" but finds this painfull also. I have encouaged her to keep pumping and we hope that it will become more comfy as the tissues learn to stretch but she is not willing to continue long if the pain remains the same. Any ideas? Anyone experienced with helping women with truely inverted nipples? *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
