I concur with Winnie regarding Linda Smith's presentation. It was a really well done piece and I enjoyed more than many of the others. Consequently when I got home my Snuggle Nest was next to the door ready to give to my daughter for her new baby....which we were so happy she didn't come which Grana was in Chicago. She also waited for Grana to finish her shift on Monday and not come on Tuesday, her Mommy and big brother's birthdays. So when I go into work it is coming with me for her to take home and use. Her Daddy rolled his eyes when I said that cosleeping is a standard of care for this FAMILY. He has been handling all the evidence based information pretty well so far. Being Cuban American for him has been traditionally no breastfeeding, crib asap in the baby's room and pacifiers...well Miss Cidnie has established her own ground rules....cluster feeding, no pacifiers, likes skin to skin and being held if not being breastfeed frequently. He even has developed an interest in the sling my other daughter wears...we snuck the cousin in for a "drink" in the LC office in our unit. Everyone has said Cidnie must have listened to Grana's breastfeeding lectures in utero and taken notes....I think she is going to be competitive with her cousin to be an exclusively breastfed girl. My one daughter said so you brag about exclusively breastfed...Yep! Cosleeping? Yes! Anything else? They have great Mommies and wise Daddies who let their Grana make recommendations. Linda Smith would be one of the tapes I would recommend you get from ILCA to listen to in groups.
