Is anyone aware of a pamphlet or something that breastfeeding mothers can give their family members that can help them know how to support them? The MOT in my previous post has been plagued by family members telling her to give bottles, and asked me if such a thing existed. I'm not a aware of anything, and thought about writing a short pamplet myself if it doesn't exist. Something along the lines of what things a family member or friend can do to support the mom, and perhaps some tips on what types of things NOT to say to the new breastfeeding mom. The woman in question called me during her babies' 3 week growth spurt and said "Can I just complain to you about nursing for 8 hours straight, and will you please not tell me to give a bottle!" I pointed her in the direction of LLL, too, so she could get some non-bottle-pushing mother to mother support. Anyone know of any literature designed for family members and friends of the breastfeeding mother?
