I have worked with women who have breastfed with nipple shields for 5 months and more. One mother I met in the local hospital postpartum told me that with an older child she had breastfed for more than a year using a nipple shield. She preferred breastfeeding that way. I am wondering if anyone else knows of one who used a shield that long.
