Well, I agree on the love affair with the pump, I have friends who pump and
feed EBM when their nurslings nurse well, and when they are home! That being
said, some moms I know continue to pump when they are away from their
nursling even if the nursling won't take EBM in a cup/bottle. They do it to
maintain some sort of supply during that time of day, for the days when they
are home. Perhaps this isn't neccessary, but some women are afraid that they
won't have milk to nurse at those times, especially with a younger baby, if
they don't pump. I do not have the professional qualifications to judge the
accuracy of this belief, but I think its done out of a desire to maintain
milk supply, sometimes.
