In our area (southern NJ) as of 5 years ago the RN/IBCLC I know was getting
less than an RN.  20 years ago I was paid pool RN rates (no benefits) as an
RN/IBCLC.  I think it depends on the contract worked out.  I personally feel
the salary of an IBCLC should equal the salary of an RN, whether or not she
is RN or not.  The IBCLC certainly does direct patient care for mother and
baby!  Would make an interesting study :-) Pat in SNJ
