Some of you who have ot received the Medela letter have asked for more details...Mine was dated March 14, 2005 and it reiterated the original dictum Distribution Policy effective 1/1/05, but now there is a FAQ sheet as well. Some of my favorites follow: Q- "Will my Medela sales representative be able to help me with questions about this policy?" A- According to Medela's policy, no Medela sales representative or customer service representative is authorized to discuss this policy, accept assurances of compliance with this policy or grant exceptions to make interpretations of this policy. Q- Does Medela's policy cover instances where I sell my excess inventory using sites like E-bay or I sell my inventory to third parties who then resell Pump In Styles to consumers over their websites? A- Medela will not do business with customers that resell (sell), or list a price for a Pump in Style over, any internet site, whether it is your own or a third party site. Medela will also not do business with dealers who sell, or facilitate the sale, of any model of Pump in Style to consumers via an internet transaction. Q- "What is Medela going to do to dealers that still sell Pump in Style online?" A- It is Medela's policy not to discuss our relationship with any particular dealer with any other dealer. We are sure you would not appreciate our discussing your account or activities with Medela with anyone else. Q- "Will I be able to discuss the situation with Medela before my account is terminated?" A- No. The Distribution Policy is clear that Medela will not deal with those who sell, or list a price for, Pump in Style products on the internet. Medela sent a copy of the new policy to all dealers via two separate mailing as well as asked dealers whether they received a copy of our policy when the placed a Pump in Style order. No further notice will occur before Medela begins enforcing this new policy. Am I the only one who received this? If so, uh, oh! So, there are the highlights of what sounds like a dictatorship to me.... thoughts? action? power in the people/LC's??
