This is slightly off topic - but I just found a study concluding that newborn massage increased weight gain among preterm infants by an average of 5gm/day, and reduced length of hospital stay by an average of 4 days. However - in the write-up, the "conclusion" is that there is no benefit to infant massage in preterm infants. Hmmmm..... Here's the link: <http://www.jr2.ox.ac.uk/bandolier/booth/alternat/Massaginfant.html> Does anyone know more about this study? If the increased weight gain is real, it seems this is a valuable tool to offer moms with preterm babies - if adding massage to their daily routine encourages better feedings. And - my real question, I found this looking for a massage oil suitable for newborns - anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
