I too would welcome more discussion about alcohol use and bf. I have been counseling moms that an occasional small drink such as a small glass of beer at a 'crab or crawfish boil' (very common here), a small glass of wine when out to dinner, or a wine cooler at a party would be compatible with no interruption in bf. I emphasize this should be occasional and not daily or heavy use. (altho I don't see why one glass of wine per day would be a problem - some cultures drink daily.) Now I feel compelled to change my advice. Laurie Wheeler, IBCLC, MN, RN New Orleans Louisiana, s.e.
