But WAVE 3 has uncovered evidence powdered formula could lead to serious health problems -- even death -- in some infants. One local family is now suing University of Louisville Hospital because of what happened to their daughter. WAVE 3 Investigator Eric Flack has the exclusive story. I really wonder why the parents don't sue the formula company. In the US there is a precedence for it; lung cancer patients sue tabacco companies and win. According to the article, the formula companies knew the hazards and did not put warning labels on the product, did not tell the general public about the risks. Taking it a step further, formula companies are well aware of the risks health of not being breastfed. Can you imagine a class action lawsuit including every person in the country who was formula fed and has any health problems traceable to being deprived of breastmilk? It's mind- boggling. -Claire Bloodgood, IBCLC Texas *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
