Basic information: To affect a change in the "Flippers, Flukes and Fun" Exhibit at the Monterey Bay Aquarium where an enormous baby bottle is used as the main display comparing whale milk consumption to human milk consumption. At issue: 1)the assumption that human babies drink formula or cow's milk and use a bottle. 2)that a plastic baby bottle is the best/only understandable way to quantify mammal milk consumption. 3)a Mammal display that avoids the clear connection of mammaries. 4)the conflict of this exhibit with the stated mission of the Aquarium. The Nurse-in will be sometime in October at: The Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey, CA located in the SF Bay Area. If you can't participate, please write to the Director and Board. For writing info., go to the Aquarium Web site: http://www.mbayaq.org/ THIS AQUARIUM IS A WONDERFUL PLACE - so helping in this way is really important for the millions - literally - of children who visit each year. *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
