Dear Jan, Congratulations on your grandson Nathaniel. I met you in 2000 in Phil. at the LC review course. I became a grandma in Dec., 2002 and of course worried about my daughter's nursing the same as you are. We did not have as many obstacles, except an emergent C/s for fetal distress and not starting nursing for a few hours. Emily is still a nursing baby, thankfully. I hope things are going better. I just caught up with this news, my thoughts, is your daughter started on an SNS or lactaid supplementer. Daughters tend to tell their mothers off sometimes of course, and we mothers walk a thin line. Have you had another LC work with her or is she totally comfortable with your assistance. It sounds like she is really trying since birth so tell her we all applaud her efforts. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a retained placenta fragment as others have suggested. I also got my daughter to go to LLL meetings to meet other mothers her age. I was lucky enough to have my own mom's group at my hosptial too that I dragged my daughter to also. She enjoyed getting out too, I believe. Sometimes the mothers have difficult stories that other mothers can relate to, also. Do you have a sympathetic LLL leader close by? Warm regards, Ellen Mahony, RN, IBCLC, LCCE *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
