Jan, I'm so sorry that you and your daughter are going through this. It does just figure, doesn't it?! My last daughter, #4 breastfeeding experience, born when I had been a LLLL for several years, was my biggest breastfeeding challenge! You mentioned that your daughter has no history of thyroid problems, but many times this is discovered/begins in the postpartum period. I didn't see that you said her thyroid had been checked, so I'd add that to the list of tests, if not. Also, since there was never a real surge of milk at Lactogenesis II, I tend to think it's not the baby's frenulum that was the original problem in the milk supply issue. It certainly does sound hormonal on mom's part. That's what I'd be looking into. The goat's rue might help and Domperidone would be the route I'd want to go. Good luck and keep us informed! Marsha, who compared her purple toenail polish to Jan's at the Conference when she was still just a "grammie-to-be"! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Marsha Glass RN, BSN, IBCLC~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mothers have as powerful an influence over the welfare of future generations as all other earthly causes combined. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~John S.
