Hello All!

My best friends' daughter delivered her son last week. She is determined to
breastfeed as she weaned her first early. She went to the pediatricians
yesterday for 1 week check up. Baby has nasty case of thrush and her
nipples are really red and tender. The nurse practitioner was willing to
treat both of them. Nystatin was prescribed for the baby and mom was
given 'a powder' to 'dust' her nipples four times a day. She was also told
that she would have to pump for 10 days until they were done with the
medication because 'they would just pass it back and forth and never get
rid of the yeast'.

It was a good thing that I was sitting down!
