Hello all. I have two things for you guys that I could use some help with: I have permission to post. Does anyone know how Tracheal mylasia (spelling is probably bad) and how or if it could affect breastfeeding? I have a client whose baby is having trouble latching. Lots of fussing, crying, pushing away with occasional latching. I do not know if it affects breastfeeding and the doctor said the baby will outgrow the condition by 3 months or so. I am not even 100? sure what it is. The baby is a full term baby girl, one week old. Second mom is the mom of a baby boy. She had an emergency c-section with spinal. She has severe allergies and has taken Zyrtek and Benadryl throughout pregnancy and is currently taking it. Without meds she is always stuffed up. She is also taking an Aleve type pain killer, post partum. Baby is sleeping alot but is also quiet and alert during the day. When she tries to latch the baby, he falls asleep at the breast almost right away or won't even try from crying and pushing away. Mom has TONS of milk. Baby will suck when finger feeding with a syringe. I referred her to a local IBCLC group. Any thoughts? Thanks for your insight!
