Dear Wise Ones, I have something that I just can't figure out on my own. I have read in many sources that once milk supply has been established with pumping every 2-3 hours (around the clock if possible), then at about 2 weeks mom's may be able to maintain their supply with just pumping 100 minutes a day. Now, here is my question: If the mom is double pumping for 13 minutes does this count for 26 minutes? It seems like that wouldn't be enough to maintain an adaquate supply only pumping 4 times a day. Or should this pumping be counted as 13 of the 100 minutes? What do you recommend to your mom's who only want to pump and feed, vs. what you recommend to mothers of preemies &/or multiples? Trying not to get in the habit of reading too much into things, as THE exam is coming up quickly! Thanks, Brenda Dalton RNC *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
