Just wanted to toss up the concept -

Due to new government regulations, we will be going an electronic med
administration system for patients in our hospital - each med is scanned and
then the patient wears a speacial arm band that is scanned as well prior to
administration. We have this system in place on some of our floors already
and many hospitals are already using it.

One of the thing we will be doing with it is giving moms barcoded labels for
their milk so that the milk can be scanned against the babys band prior to
being fed to the baby. This should help reduce the risk of, but not
eliminate - errors.
