Sadly, strawberries in this country (US) --particularly those grown in California and Florida--always show up on the top of the list of fruits & vegetables that should be limited because of the huge amounts of pesticides & fungicides that are ingested along with the berries. Both the EWA & the EPA have information on this on their websites, if you're want to know more. EWA.org has a "wallet card" that you can download that lists the dozen most contaminated and the dozen least contaminated ones... Obviously, organic strawberries -or those from your own garden- are a different story, but in light of the evidence of how much of those chemicals end up in our breastmilk, maybe mothers should not eat huge amounts of commercially-grown strawberries for diuresis. (and I love strawberries!)
