I suppose a lot of young mothers are too young to remember Ronald Reagan and his "supply side" economics (and George Bush the father calling Reagan's approach "voodoo" economics). Breast milk production works "the old fashioned" way, the more the demand, the more the supply. If the baby nurses often, or if there is more than one baby, then the breasts get the message "Make Milk." If the baby nurses only occasionally, then the breasts get the message "No Need for Milk."
