With recent news stories reporting unacceptable lead levels in some of
Washington DC's drinking water, breastfeeding mothers are asking us what
this could mean for *them.*. I have lots of general information on lead
poisoning from the CDC, FDA and such, along with the breastfeeding angle
from Hale (when is the 2004 edition due?), Lawrence, Riordan and
Auerbach, and some small bits from LLL's recent pieces on contaminants
in general. The Lactnet archives had some excellent discussion, though
from several years ago -- does anyone have some newer references or an
particularly useful resource on the topic of breastfeeding and lead
poisoning.
