I imagine one could crochet them as well. Start with a little ring of stitches for the width of the nipple, carry it down into a little tube for the shank of the nipple, then increase into a circle for the areola, with little textured stitches for Montgomery's glands. Increase more for the breast. One can make nice even circular increases by using one more stitch between each "two stitches in one stitch increase" every row. (In other words, round 1: one crochet, then one increase, repeat around. round 2: crochet in each of next 2 stitches, increase, repeat around. round 3: crochet in each of next 3 stitches, increase, repeat, etc. -- Catherine Watson Genna, IBCLC New York City mailto:[log in to unmask] *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
