Dear Judy, This sounds hard on the mom. As a mom of twins I would highly recommend pacifiers after good feeds - I realize this is a contraversial subject but when you have fussy twins in the middle of the night who have full bellies, using pacifiers is better than being led to unecessarily supplement with formula. If they are fussy due to anything else but hunger, I would suggest trying out the paci's and see if the babies seem content. Ofcourse I do not suggest they be used in place of feedings, but as a sanity-savor for a mother who not only has twins to care for but 3 other children, and herself. One other thought was to suggest breast compression during feeds, and to have the babies each weight before and after a feeding to indentify if the problem is sufficient intake. I would think judging from what so many wise LN's have said here before is that if one of the twins is having sucking problems (missing muscle) then it would be a good possibility that mom's supply is not being optimally stimulated. Maybe a handpump in bed might be a small assistance with this? How is the weaker sucking baby on the finger? Best of luck, Megan *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(R) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
