Misquoted or not, Johnson's in (virtual) print with the wrong
recommendations, and that's not a good thing for his credibility.
He is not wrong:  the AAP is schizophrenic on this issue.  The AAP Committee
on Nutrition (Yellow Book) always has, and still recommends 4-6 months to
start solids.  They disagree with the AAP Secition on Breastfeeding who states
"about 6 months".  Both have agreed to have asterisks on their revised statements
noting the difference.
