Barb asks for research to show that mothers who are given the facts and
make their individual decisions on that are happier.  Maybe as well as that
research Barb would be to search the legal literature to demonstrate that
people who aren't fully informed are more likely to sue when a
'misadventure' they hadn't been informed about occurs.
We have legal precedent here in Australia - I'm sure there's plenty of
precedents in US medico-legal circles.
Carrots sometimes work, but probably work better when there's also a big stick.
