Kris, Check at Heidelberg Army hospital. I worked there from 2000-2002 and we had some outreach up to that area. We also (rarely) got patients from that area. There were 2-4 LC's that were also LLL that did an outpatient follow up on newly delivered babies. A point of contact may be Jane Mitchell on the OB unit. She works nights, and is also an IBCLC that I keep in touch with. Hope this helps. I am working on labor doula certification with CAPPA, after which I would like to begin working toward my IBCLC. Mostly I have lurked here, reading and learning immense amounts. :-) I recently moved to Germany and am now working in a Family Advocacy Program in Giessen (about 70km north of Frankfurt). The job is with Army Community Services, serving American men and women living overseas. Part of our program involves new parent support, including birth preparation classes. We are looking for a volunteer LC to speak four times a year for about an hour at the birth prep classes. We feel that the information would have more "mmmph" behind it coming from a certified LC. The volunteer would honestly not get a lot back from the deal, except that she would get a free meal, lots of attention, and a chance to influence breastfeeding rates in a population where BFing is woefully short-lived or not even considered. If there are any interested LCs out there, please contact me off-list at [log in to unmask], or I can be reached in Germany by phone at 0641-402-7421. Thanks for your time and all your wonderful work, I am already enjoying reading along with the digests. :-) *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Kris Cervantes Family Advocacy Program Educator Army Community Services 284th Base Support Battalion DSN 343-7618 * CIV 0641-402-7618 *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
