Anne, What a great suggestion, thank you. I am frequently asked this question as I work w/employed breastfeeding mothers. I usually suggest that the caregivers cover the baby w/mom's clothing item and NOT simulate feeding positions that the moms use. I recommend that they sit the baby facing them and allow the baby to explore the artifical teat. NEVER force anything on the baby. I have found that there are just some sensitive babies who absolutely refuse to be supplemented when mom is at work. They may take an oz here or there to get through their day...and that is it. These babies have changed their schedule so that the majority of their feeds are still at the breast. They tend to nurse all night long. Most moms don't have a problem w/this once they understand the underlining reasons. They just miss their moms.
