Wow, Gail Hertz, what a wonderful analogy to use with parents about letting
their babies cry instead of attending to their needs.  I can't wait to get
the chance to try that out on someone!
I always say "It is easier to hold a happy baby than to listen to a
miserable one cry"  So many parents here seem to think baby needs to learn
independence immediately.  I have heard new dads and grandparents already in
the birthing suite telling new moms who are happily getting acquainted with
their new little ones "Oh, you're going to have that baby so spoiled."
