Just so happens, I fielded an LLL Helping Call on this same topic yesterday, Barb. According to The Breastfeeding Answer Book, on page 449, "No evidence exists that the nursing mother's use of hair-car products, such as hair days and permanents, has any effect on her breastfeeding baby. When a mother uses hair care products, some of the chemicals will be absorbed through her skin. If her scalp is healthy and intact, less will be absorbed than if the skin on her scalp is scratched or abraded." Hope this helps. --Karen Meade LLL Leader, suburban Philadelphia, PA, USA anxiously (and quite uncomfortably) awaiting the arrival of nursling #3 at the end of October :) *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
