I want to second Rachel Myr's recommendation that everyone read what Jean Cotterman has written about Reverse Pressure Softening. This easy to understand, explain, and use technique is fantastic for getting babies to latch well during engorgement. I wrote Jean to ask about it in a "Hmmm... interesting... wonder if it works" mood a couple of years ago and wow! I have used it frequently (over-intervention at birth is rampant here), and even with my own youngest (no intervention birth, but the most disorganized suck I've ever seen). In case you didn't check it out when Rachel posted, here's the site again: http://www.health-e-learning.com/breasted_web_articles/reverse_pressure/reverse_pressure.htm Melanie Melanie Young LLLL, IBCLC *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
