I've often thought about the possibility of using breastmilk in severely burnt + smoke inhalation patients (young and old). My understanding is that bacterial translocation through the gut wall (sepsis etc) is a serious problem by these patients and thus my reasoning is that breastmilk could be used to help prevent/reduce risk. Would be interesting to see if breastmilk has an effect? Anyone heard of this being used with donor milk?? groetjes Sara Bernard The Netherlands *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
