There is an article about a 16 yr old with a swollen submandibular gland
(from reduced drainage due to traction from the frenulum) due to tongue
tie.  When the frenulum was treated, the submandibular gland returned to
normal, and the spurting of saliva he experienced during speech became
extremely infrequent.  The reference is:
