hi paula a couple more things come to mind re repeated candida infections. does the mother have diabetes or other risk factor for candida like steroid medication use? does the mother have unresolved vaginal yeast infection which baby contacted if vaginal birth? if so this should be treated as well as the partner if he has possible candida as well. frequent pacifier use in baby? can lead to infection or re-infection for baby and transfer to mom. i usually recommend mother take a probiotic such as acidophillus capsules to help restore friendly bacteria in her system. there is a wealth of info on yeast in our archives as well.
