This gives the impression that before your assistance, feeds may have occurred less frequently than every 2-3 hours. In my experience, feeding every 2-3 hours is not really very frequent, especially if the baby has a longer sleep stretch at night which the mother may not be taking into account. Do I gather correctly that the baby is now around 3 weeks old? It would not be at all unusual for a healthy, normal, properly-feeding baby that age to give nursing cues hourly or more often. My first moves would be to discontinue pacifier use (if any), discuss early feeding cues with mom, and have mom and baby spend a few days in a "nurse-in" -- skin-to-skin, no housework, no appointments, just mom and baby hanging out and cuddling. Mom should let baby feed just as often as she wants. If mom balks at this level of intensity, remind her that it is a temporary intervention to bring her supply up. I understand that in some cases it can take several weeks to reach full production, so you may yet see results with the interventions you're already doing, plus the ones above.
