A possible reason for the milk coming from the nose is an oversupply of milk or an overactive let-down. Does the milk just run at the beginning of the feeds (with let-down) or through out the entire feeding? This paragraph with ** is copied from the Australian Breastfeeding Association webpage. The link is also listed below. **As your baby gets older, other signs(of too much milk) can include milk dripping out of his nose or the corner of his mouth, pulling off during the let-down when milk will spray from the nipple openings, or lots of possetting. Perhaps you have a normal supply but a very fast flow. Your baby will probably ask for the second breast each feed, weight gains will be adequate, but your baby may be pulling off at the beginning of the feed when the milk is spraying (letting down). ** www.breastfeeding.asn.au/bfinfo/toomuch.html Denise hot & humid day in Dallas, Texash *********************************************** To temporarily stop your subscription: set lactnet nomail To start it again: set lactnet mail (or digest) To unsubscribe: unsubscribe lactnet All commands go to [log in to unmask] The LACTNET mailing list is powered by L-Soft's renowned LISTSERV(R) list management software together with L-Soft's LSMTP(TM) mailer for lightning fast mail delivery.
